Stadshuskällaren – a restaurant in Stockholm City Hall

In the inviting vaulted cellar, you’ll find Kungsholmen’s hidden gem, Stadshuskällaren, located in Stockholm City Hall. Start your evening in the bar with a cocktail featuring seasonal flavors and snacks from the kitchen. In the dining room, the flames of lit candles flicker, the music is carefully chosen, and the service is impeccable. The ambiance is perfect for long, delightful conversations over good food and drink. Enjoy the interior, which blends contemporary Swedish design with preserved elements from Stadshuskällaren’s original décor and furniture from the 1920s.

In the Forest in the City

Stadshuskällaren’s food philosophy has always been to make the most of what nature provides. The young kitchen team works with Swedish flavors, creating modern Swedish dishes using selected seasonal ingredients straight from the forest, fields, and sea. Game features on the menu, along with fish, seafood, and plant-based dishes. Everything aligns with their food philosophy, “In the Forest in the City.” Here, the dishes are as delicious as they are visually stunning, from snacks and starters to the delightful desserts crafted by their Pastry Chef Andreas Elofsson.

A well-curated wine list

Here, you’ll find wines from classic wine countries such as France, Italy, Spain, and Germany. The U.S. is also well-represented, and for those who prefer Swedish wines, there are several producers to choose from. Stadshuskällaren regularly hosts wine evenings featuring visits from winemakers and wine partners or wines selected by their own Head Sommelier. The wines are paired with menus created by Head Chef Magnus Santesson, also a member of the Swedish Culinary Team.
